I can’t wait to share one of my close and wonderful friends wedding days with you!
I was privileged to be asked by my very lovely friend Naomi to be a bridesmaid for her special day, and I couldn’t wait to be able to help her with finding her dream gown, endless amounts of Pinterest, calligraphy practise, and of course lots of hen planning!
This gorgeous pair got engaged a couple of days after their seven year anniversary, in the exact same place they visited on their first date seven years prior, in Naomi’s home town of Brighton. When Luke, the big softy that he is dropped down on one knee (he may have shed a tear) and asked Naomi to spend the rest of her life with him, of course, without any doubt she said yes!
The date was soon set for Bonfire Night 2016 and with this the couple began planning and putting together a magical autumnal wedding which was beautifully classical with some quirky personal touches.
Naomi wore a La Sposa gown called Edna with a stunning ornate neckline and back detail which suited Naomi’s petite figure perfectly. Covered from top to toe in delicate Spanish lace, the gown was hand beaded to add a subtle twinkle. With lighting and candles being a heavy focus for their wedding we knew that this would add that extra little touch of glamour. We teamed her gown with a delicate ivory feather stole by Sasso and a beautiful train length veil which looked stunning in the church. Her hair detail was a Pinterest worthy soft updo, a cascading plait by Hair By Gemma. The make up was kept soft and romantic by Lucy Reid Make up and hair.
From day one Naomi had her heart set on a pair of Emmy wedding shoes and with this in mind I managed to acquire of two tickets for us to attend the the Quintessentially Wedding’s Atelier at Claridges in London. After trying on practically the whole of the Emmy stand (Well how could a girl just choose one pair?) Naomi fell in love with a pair of the Cinderella shoes, an ornately embellished bridal shoe inspired by the famous glass slipper.
Saying their vows at their local village church St Nicholas’ in Wickham, Hampshire. It was a very special ceremony with the couple beaming from the moment they laid eyes on one other!
On this very chilly Autumn day Luke and Naomi had arranged for miniature pasties, bottles of prosecco decorated in hand tied gold bows with pin striped straws to be handed out for the guests journey ahead to their stunning venue. We loved this fun little touch!
The reception was held at the stunning Fitzleroi Barns, situated amongst the rolling hills of the West Sussex countryside on a quaint farm. In the beautiful space of the barn all of the little details were carefully considered. The floral theme of classical white hydrangeas, lisianthus, freesias and gypsophelia were carried through from Naomi’s bridal bouquet to the centre pieces and dainty plant pots which made the table plan.
On each table was a glass bottle of homemade flavoured vodka tipples which Naomi had spent months preparing by distilling different types of signature chocolates and sweets which made for a very fun toast (chocolate lime and Cadburys creme egg being just a few!). Hand-tied with a personalised ink stamp that Naomi uses when making bakes for friends and family and calligraphy style laser cut table numbers! This couple know how to party, and this was just to ensure the evening started off on the right foot!
The bridesmaids wore soft flowing gowns by Hayley Paige ‘Occasions’ in a soft cornflour blue which made a beautiful contrast with our hand tied bouquet of white hydrangeas and gysophelia by Flori by Lynne.
Fabulous heartfelt speeches, cutting of the gorgeous rustic Naked by The Naked Food Company and plenty of dancing to the funky live band.
And to end the night a beautiful surprise firework display and a tunnel of sparklers for the newlyweds allowed for beautiful photos captured and moments to treasure forever!
